An appointment for a dental examination with a specialist in Oral Medicine should be made before commencing the following:

• Osteoporosis drugs or cancer drugs known as bone modifying agents (e.g. Xgeva^®, Prolia^®, Actonel^®, Fosalan^®).
• Chemotherapy or radiation (especially to the head and neck area).
