X-rays

X-rays play an essential role in diagnosing tooth decay, periodontal (gum) disease and many other dental problems. In fact without routine x-rays many problems will go unnoticed by you and by your dentist during an examination.

However we know how important it is to keep the exposure to x-rays to an absolute minimum.

At Pearl Dental we use ‘digital sensors’ to capture the image. This means that the exposure time is about one fifth of that for normal x-ray film packets. Also we are able to view the image immediately on our computer screen and send the image to you or other dental professionals at the click of a button.

As with all your care here at Pearl Dental we tailor your treatment to suit you individually. Similarly we will decide how often routine x-rays are required to ensure we keep your mouth healthy.
